How to use irc :3
Channels
Channels act more or less the same as they would on something like discord but unlike discord they don't log messages by default but you can change this on some servers by messing with the /mode command
Each channel will have a number of users and some operators(usually denoted with a @)
You can learn a bit more about a particular user with /whois
if you want to get a list of all the channels use /list
and to join a channel /join
Accounts
IRC doesnt really have accounts like discord but most servers implement a way to keep your nick without staying logged in 24/7 via nick serv
to create a account /ns register usually works but its best to just confirm the syntax of the particular server rather then trying a one size fits all approch
but if your server doesnt have nickserv, you'll have to use the /nick command to set a name every time you connect, and hope no one else is using it
Formatting
Every client does it different and some don't support any formatting but the basics are as follows:
/me : used to specify actions,ie Myrin boops kitsu
mirc color codes, most clients support this, but some old ones don't,it works in this format ,,how to type the color char depends on the client
bolding italics and underlining, this ones a bit more rare then the other, but its still supported, like color they rely on zero-width chars
images are just not supported on irc so most people use either ascii art or just link to the img instead
General rules
most channels what you to avoid joining and quitting, easiest to fix this is with a bouncerr(ie znc)
same thing goes for sending large blocks of text, try to use a pastebin service
